Description

Bas riffs on the Shaker ladder-back chair with thoughtful improvements from designer Peter De Jong. The 3-rung back angles toward a centerline that hugs the back, keeping pressure off the spine. A more forgiving angle and padded seat in soft, deer-tanned cowhide offer better comfort than its hard, straight-backed antecedent. Alone or around a table, this elegant chair is solidly constructed in sustainably sourced wood with traditional joinery and finished with a hand-rubbed oil and wax finish.
